This is a unique position within the Edmonton zone that offers you a wide range of experience and opportunities to positively impact the lives of those living with or caring for individuals with addiction and/or mental health concerns. Access 24/7 is a growing program that provides a wide range of addiction and mental health services such as system navigation, screening, assessment, intake, referral, consultation, crisis intervention, and community outreach. Interventions with our clientele and/or their families can occur in the clinic, the community, or in a client’s home, dependent on the identified needs. This exciting role also works closely with many stakeholders such as EMS, EPS, RCMP, PCNs, community agencies, emergency departments, our acute care environments and the broader AMH portfolios within the zone. This position will join the rest of our multi-disciplinary team of professionals who provide quality, client focused, recovery based, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking supports/services within Addictions and Mental Health. As the Mental Health Clinician, you will be required to perform psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities with persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, and treatment. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a master's degree in psychology; a bachelor's degree in social work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention; a master's or bachelor's degree in occupational therapy with similar educational components; a bachelor's degree in nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling; or a bachelor's degree in psychiatric nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant addiction and mental health experience providing crisis intervention, preferably in a community setting. Formal clinical training in triage, intervention and stabilization, preferably in a community setting. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
