Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Physically capable to lift food, supplies and equipment up to 46lbs and must be able to push/pull meal carts up to 250lbs. This position requires you to walk and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 1 year experience in food service in a either a commercial, restaurant or health care setting. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with preparing food and beverages for specialized diets. Experience with inventory management; receiving deliveries, managing expiry dates and minimizing waste. Experience with Commercial Food Service Equipment. Food Safe certificate or equivalent. WHMIS training.
