The Dianne and Irving Kipnes Urology Center (KUC), located on the 7th floor of the Kaye Edmonton Clinic (KEC), has a vision to provide state of the art urological care in an academic and research environment. We are seeking an experienced, innovative, energetic and motivated Licensed Practical Nurse who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team environment with a desire to provide exceptional care to patients. Working under the direction of the manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the Kaye Edmonton team who is responsible for a variety of nursing duties. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, they are responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patients, as well as providing patient education in an ambulatory clinical setting. Completing tasks such as catheter exchanges, dressing changes, staple removal, Uroflow, stent removal as well as provide education to patients, the LPN works with the Urologists and Registered Nurses to provide excellent patient care.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities. Excellent communication skills, a compassionate and caring attitude, and attention to detail. Ability to work within a team environment and to effectively contribute to patient/client planning process. Minimum of 1 year experience Operating room, Intensive Care and/or Emergency experience. Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull greater than 50lbs. Physical demands and requirements include: prolonged, extensive and/or considerable standing and walking; lifting, positioning and transferring of patients; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
Preferred Qualifications:3 years of recent acute care urology experience. Excellent working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Netcare and Connect Care.
