Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Must have at 1 year of experience with assessing and treating musculoskeletal and orthopedic patient populations. Knowledge and experience of pre and post orthopedic surgery conditions is required. You are able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impacts, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate to effectively plan treatments and discharges from hospital. You can work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. You are a reliable worker who is flexible in using their time effectively by prioritizing competing tasks. You have effective teaching skills for students and other professionals. Basic computer skills and ability navigating Netcare and Outlook. Must be able to work one in six weekends. You are required to transfer, carry and lift patients and equipment more than 50LB.
Preferred Qualifications:Provisional licenses will be considered but general license preferred. 1 year of experience within last 5 years in AHS acute care setting preferred, but Covenant Health experience will be considered. Skills & knowledge in delirium and dementia and behaviors related to it are an asset. Knowledge and experience of trauma and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation are an asset. Experience in using ceiling lift, mobility aids and handling bariatric equipment. Connect Care training is an asset.
