Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Successfully pass the Stollery PEARS course (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, recognition and Stabilization Course), completed in orientation. Successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration exam (pass=90%). Exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Demonstrated initiative, accountability, problem solving, organizational skills and effective time management. Strong decision-making, assessment and critical thinking skills. Ability to adapt and work within a fast paced, and time sensitive environment with competing responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to the candidate with minimum 2 years acute pediatric experience. Experience with children with tracheostomies, peritoneal dialysis, and medical fragile patient populations considered an asset.
