Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:Graduation from a recognized nursing education program. Proven ability to function in an acute medical nursing environment within the last 3-6 months Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing technology Current Heart and Stroke BLS-HCP certification. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Critical thinking and problem-solving solutions. Ability to contribute as a team member, learn within a dynamic environment and adapt/cope with change. Demonstrated excellent time management and organization skills. Ability to manage the job classification of “heavy physical demand” level as per the AHS Job Demands Summary.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency with Connect Care and clinical documentation standards. Candidates with previous or current experience on Internal Medicine or another Acute Medicine unit with equivalent Acuity are strongly preferred.
