Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Administration Certificate (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated leadership, team building, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an outstanding customer focused attitude. Knowledge of mental health assessments, treatment methodologies and intervention strategies. Competent assessment of behavioral risks and interventions in ensuring safety of patient, self and others. Ability to manage a wide variety of clinical situations within a fast-paced environment with varying levels of acuity. Knowledge of and competent de-escalation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Excellent written and verbal communication skills in fluent English. Physically and emotionally, carry out the duties of the position. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong initiative and ability to work independently with limited supervision. Proven ability to work positively, effectively, and cooperatively within an interdisciplinary team. Maintain a commitment to continued professional development.
